I'd like to cover/replace the chrome badges with black ones but everything off Amazon/Ebay seems questionable at best or garbage at worst. I've seen a lot of complaints on several threads.

Does anyone have any highly recommended options or does everyone just dip them? I also don't want to spend a fortune.

    Thanks!

For under $30 I removed all my badges, sanded them lightly, used a plastic primer, then hit them with a gloss UV resistant black paint and clearcoat. The only hard part of the process was cutting the 3m tape to remount them. My wife even commented how good they look.

I dipped them first and just didn't like the look.

Just RIP em off with some fishin like, git you some black paint, and spray and pray cuz. Then I stick em back on with hot glue, make sure you dont remove the old sticky shit, as it will ad some extra stickiness when you put em black on

Ditto on the OEM overlay kit. It's expensive but takes 10 minutes to install. They fit the chrome emblems like a glove.

Hard to tell from the pics, are the OEM ones glossy or flat?

Just keep an eye out as Ebay does that every so often, I think most of the Mods on my truck have been thru those coupon days.

I just Krylon'd mine with 5 or 6 coats of matte black. Haven't put them back on the truck yet.
