do toyotas have torsion bars

    00 toyota tacoma single cab
    i have my 2000 toyato tacoma regular cab and want to lift it a couple of inches if it doesent have torsion bars how would i lift the front end with out paying too much????

    I believe you have coil springs in the front. You could get coil spacers, or new springs to lift it. check out or

    you have coil springs. I think they stopped useing torsion bars in the late 80's early 90's.

    Some where around 95-96 I think. What ever year the body style changed.

    01 SR: Double Cab conversion, S/C, lowered.
    The 1989 - 1995 'PreTaco' Toyota pickups had torsion bars. The 1995.5+ Tacomas do not.

    ^^^ yep, nailed the years. I'd look at Toytec and Wheeler's for some lift options. you can also just search lifts on ebay and find some spacers on there for pretty cheap. be warned that they can increase wear on lots of IFS components and a diff drop spacer is also reccomended if you intend on going 2.5"+
