This reminds me of a guy that just quit work with us. He was a temp anyway but the point is he was young, like 20 ish. He didn't have a vehicle, relied on others for rides to work. Someone told me he was saving up to buy an Infinity. This is what gets me, people would rather walk or bum rides than have a simple cheap car, just something to get from a to b. This guy was late to work all the time because of his rides. I can respect saving for a nice ride, but Isn't it more important to have transportation first? :smack:

I get plenty of looks in my truck when I drive through campus... Too bad I couldn't pull any tail if I tried. Maybe I'll just start driving around with a keg standing up in the back. I'm sure to get followers then.

I <3 my subaru. gonna get an STi soon. only have a WRX now, however is it faster than most STi's. My 07 WRX wagon DEMANDS respect!

people realize tacomas are expensive, so mine gets respect. makes it through a LOT of things you cant take many stock trucks through.

I think this is a problem that disappears with age and maturity.

On the DR650 all other bikers wave with the exception of harley riders (some kind of superiority complex or something).

In the truck no one notices.

Same with the AE86 since it's a coupe and no one knows what it is.

I just traded my AWD Talon that I modded to the max for a freaking Mazda Protege 5 because I thought it was time to 'grow up'. BIG MISTAKE. OMG can't wait to get rid of this thing and get a WRX hatch or something mildly cooler than grandma's wagon.

The Protege looks like a total wannabe car, so I get kiddies in neons and whatnot buzzing around me like I'm in a field of bumble bees. It drives me crazy, I don't even drive the damn thing anymore. Screw 37mpg, I'll just grit my teeth at the pump and keep driving the Tacoma. People don't look when I drive it which I prefer, and neons don't buzz up my butt either.

So I guess to answer the initial question, yes. When I drive my Ford diesel, I get black smoke in the face by every cummins with stacks... when I drive the Protege the ricers are like fly's around a piece of meat.... when I drive the Tacoma I get left alone... when I drive the Mighty Max I get chuckled at... when I drive the rock crawler people turn their head sideways and go, Huh?? lol

LOL! I have no idea what this guy is talking about, when I sit 6 inches off an idiot's rear bumper because they cut in front of me, they'll notice, when people at stoplights are adjusting their mirrors in front of me, they notice, when I'm in a merging lane and are running out of room to merge and you haven't cleared the lane for me, you'll notice when I start coming over (with signals which no one pays attention to around here). When I hit the gas and tear a hole in the space-time continuum, everyone notices...c'mon, give me a break, my truck is big, it's black, it's twentyfuckingfeetlong! How can you miss it?

i absolutely love the looks i get. i see other tacoma owners all the time and we flash our headlights and what not. BUT what does bug me is when i drive through town and all the local collge kids (non JC kids) yell at me telling me im a bro and everything. Common man, im the least broed kid in town. I can actually rely on my car starting every morning rather than the POS rangers i see around town,

I hate that my (totalled) jetta has a spoiler, (even though I kinda like the look :anonymous: ) because I get all the fooz zipping around me trying to race. Its ridiculous. Even tonight a pre 2001 Tacoma  revved his engine at me (s/c?) he was quick but really? I am driving a crunched Jetta with a crooked spoiler. I do not street race.

Normally I get the Neon, Focus, Impreza (not sti or wrx) or mazda zip by/around me and just laugh.

    Alaska needs some tracks.

EDIT: Added pic of current condition of Jetta

I see al these post about BMW's and Mercedes and most people buy them shits used beacuse the resale blows ans you can buy them for cheap(compared to new) that is til they relize that service is so expensive that they dont make payments and keep them in their garage so they don't REPO'd

I have seen nubs rev their Civics when they pull up next to a big diesel pulling a trailer with a car, coming home from a track weekend. I have also seen said Civics get fogged in diesel smoke as they try catch up.
