    So, by my wanting to have a non-rusty truck I'm somehow betraying the Toyota family, who have knowingly sold the public defective vehicles that include the Tacoma...??? Why do you take it upon yourself to feel insulted on Toyota's behalf? So, in real life, do you just live with having bought sour milk at the store, or do you take it back for a new one or get a refund? How attached you are to your truck is your business, but don't think your bias is going to make any difference to me. You guys obviously need some release. Try leaving the house... Go drive your rust free trucks & STFU!!!

    I suspect that you are confusing an encounter with the DEALER for an official position from Toyota. The problem that YOU are having, is that you *don't have a problem*. Given the amount of visible rust on your frame, you can anticipate that perforation is unlikely to occur in anything less than a CENTURY.

    The word "perforations" is not up to opinion, it is a matter of the word's definition;
    http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/perforation?s=t

    A perforation is a HOLE that goes RIGHT THROUGH something. Your frame very clearly has NO perforations. That doesn't mean that it is completely without rust, just that the rust didn't eat a hole all the way through it.

    I also suspect you didn't read the part where corporate sent a guy out to the dealer, not the dealer tech, 2 months after the dealer tech inspected the 1st time. Told me I have sufficient rust to make valid claim, holes through frame, or not...

    It's ok. Toyota will have this problem solved in .....2028??? Maybe?? Because they fixed the leaf spring problem already.....oh wait. Hmmm. Maybe they fixed the frames in 2011 since they have had problems since 2001. I mean only 11 years to fix the problem. Don't rush the quality Toyota is putting out, am I right fanbois?? I mean it's like buying a new house built on a foundation of cotton candy. Get it wet and it's gone. These trucks are fools gold.

    Yeah, it's been an on going explanation, since everyone's response has been the "perforation" definition... It's a situation, but since it's on the not anywhere near as bad as the salt road states situation, I imagine it's just not a priority to them right now. Especially being an RC base...

    You could always sell it and move on. As much as people like to joke the rusting on these things is ridiculous. Every other manufacturer has figured it out. If I lived in a high rust area I probably wouldn't drive a Tacoma.

    I couldn't sell it in good faith, having an open claim. Honestly, the reality is there is no reason for rust to occur this soon. If it had been properly painted and sealed, I wouldn't be in this situation. The whole reason many of us bought the Tacoma was of durability and dependability, which you got. Some of us didn't, and that's an issue. And there is a class action in California, not just Arkansas, concerning the Tacoma. It's not just my whining about rust...

    His frame would be considered mint for the northeast. No reason for Toyota to even do anything with it. Take care of it now before it does become a problem or not.
