    No.

    I don't have a membership :D

But seriously.... I used to when I had a membership, and I bought from Sam's until prices started jumping. Now I buy from Chevron.

    Ya see... Chevron is $4.36/gallon
    Sam's is $4.26/gallon
    I can buy gas at Sam's and save a whopping $1.50 on a fill-up

What do I get for that $1.50 savings?
Fucking with the idiots getting into the parking lot.
Waiting in line for 20 minutes (and our local Costco is worse)
Not being able to pay cash... and having to scan both the Sam's card and CC.
Fucking with the idiots getting out of the parking lot.

And the Sam's/Costco stations are normally situated near an entrance... which, depending on the layout, can really make it a hassle getting in or out.
My local Costco, the line backs up into the driveway to the street.
My local Sam's, the exit is 30ft from the driveway exiting the center (which has a Sam's and WalMart SuperCenter)... just trying to get OUT of the station can take 10 minutes.

So no... I'll drive by, and if there's a line, I'll go to Chevron and get on with my life.
$0.10/gallon was a big deal when gas was only $0.75/gallon. A 15 gallon fillup was either $11.25 or $12.75.. that's almost 12% more. That's significant.
$4.25 vs $4.35? $63.75 vs $65.25? It's not worth my time to deal with it.

    Yea, I do.

Price of costco gas = $4.37 per gallon.

Price of non costco gas = $4.69 per gallon.

    .
It is a top tier gas in my area, and most of the time, it comes from a QuickTrip batch, including additives.

This usually depends on area distribution contracts which may vary .... i.e. fuel by spec. + additives.

Is that an unusually high non costco gas station? I have been tracking it pretty close on gas buddy lately and it always seems to be about 10 cents lower here. If I fill 17 gallons, no way it is worth the hassle for $1.70.

Always use it. Seldom a line to get it. Always cheaper. Don't know about the legitimacy of the new signs that say 5x the additives, but truck drives well, and with the AMEX I save even more. Love it.

I do when I'm there but I don't make a special trip. All of the gas, no matter what vendor, comes out of the same refinery about 30 miles away. Gas is federally mandated to be exactly the same except the additives. Each vendor mixes their specific additive (Chevron gets Techron, Maverick gets water. Just kidding!) as the gas goes into the transport tanker.

Costco gas is pretty fresh since they sell lots of it and it is often replaced.

I go before work about 7am. Never a line.

My ex GF worked at Costco and sometimes worked the gas station. She told me that they buy from different suppliers... whoever has the best price at the time. They set their price by the local competion.

I'm considering trying it. I'll compare the price with the shell across the street and see what's the difference in price.
