So your sitting around 3.5 inches of lift. Lower pre load to get around 2.5 to 3 of lift. Your CV angles must suck

Yes the CVs are on a solid angle. Have diff drop scheduled for next week but hopefully your advice with backing off spring pre-load will drop front end enough to clean up top outs and eliminate the need to drop the diff

Mr Gribble would you mind please sharing your high/low compression and rebound settings?

I'm hoping the preolad is messing with me a bit but the best I can get it to ride is with both compression knobs wide open and rebound locked down. This seems odd. Tried the hilux default settings but they were a bit firm/harsh

    Thank you

I received this via PM by @Crikeymike :

They're only supposed to go to 226mm maximum (8.89764 inches) from the bottom of the coil seat to the center of the lower mount hole. Anything more than that and it's going to put too much preload on the coils.
Here is how to measure it:

From the Fitting Guide (below, also, you can try post #21's baseline settings too). My DCLB hub to fender measurement was 20.5" stock :notsure:

Thanks everyone for all the help really appreciate it

Just measured from center of lower bushing to top side of lowest point on ring that supports spring(lowest point of spring to center of bushing)

    9-1/8'' +/- 1/16''

I'll try and get the spanner in there and drop it .... anybody had luck doing this in place?

Yeah, like the other guys said, sounds like too much preload and too much lift. Do you have all the front accessory weight on it that you'll have? That's the heaviest and tallest spring Dobinsons offer, and it requires a heavy front end load to ride correctly (and to compress the springs to the correct ride height) but additional preload is definitely causing it to top out. Ideally the front of a Taco shouldn't be any more than 23.5" hub to fender.

Taco's have varied from 20", 20.5" and 21" from hub to fender when new and Dobinsons use 20" as their baseline for stock height up front. AC's are 21".

    Noted thanks Mike

I'll bring it back to the shop to address this.

I plan to add RCI alum. skid package

The spring confuses me as I was under the impression the shop had used C59-314.

I was looking for 2-2.5'' of lift

if the C59-314 was in fact used by backing off preload 1/2'' to 3/4'' would I be able to achieve a better ride height or I'm I looking at having to change springs to something a little shorter?

Just check with them what actual springs they used. 314's give 2" of lift with the stock coil seat height of 213mm, so if you do have 314's, you'd lower it down to that setting and get the proper ride height.

Thanks everyone for the help. Truck went in today and preload was backed off. Ride height is now sitting a touch over 23.5''. Haven't driven much yet but so far huge improvement on road. Really happy with it.

    Update
had time to bang the truck down some FSRs this weekend it was excellent
came in a little hot to some nasty potholes a few times and the front end ate them up with no loss of control

    summary
better highway speed handling & much less body roll than stock
    more control off-road than stock
    better/smoother ride off-road than stock

    awesome product so far

Absolutely love my MRR's. I've got about 600# constant load on the stock leafs at the moment while the new pack comes in and the MRR handles the over-loading phenomenally.
