Ya I saw those. I think they came out right after I placed my order. Thinking the ones I got should be “ok” to use since they came with the springs as a package. I guess I’m wondering why the original MRAs don’t work through the range of travel the leaf springs provide and if that can damage the shock mostly. It’s too bad they rob the truck of down travel. Wish I woulda known that when I bought.

I agree, and I'm checking with my mechanic to see if he checked for droop. :notsure: Out of curiosity, did your kit come with the front reservoir mounts?

There's a chance DobinsonUSA will take them back if you haven't used them, and you may get by on your old shocks until the new ones arrive. :notsure:

Yes, reservoir mounts that sandwich in between sway bar and the frame.

Yup! So, as with any product, they're working out the kinks. I'm betting the extended length shocks are a solution to what you're seeing, but I could be wrong.

Could be...probably shoulda measured instead of assuming the shocks were made to work best with the springs from the same company.

I see that you inquired about this specific topic over here... Can you throw on your old ones, and return these? Maybe they'd be willing to work with you on the 30-day policy considering...

Could be an option, although I might be past the 30 days and I got them on the Black Friday special. Also not sure what return shipping and all that would cost.

FWIW, I have the 110 leaf pack, and my mechanic said he doesn't remember the shock length looking like yours. Maybe it has something to do with the heavy 112 pack?

We tapped into the frame for the brackets, and I just noticed my driver side bracket is stripped out. I've ordered those sway bar mount brackets that you have.

Nice! Ya I had to drill and tap for the rears and they seemed like a weird design, probably designed to bolt up to a deifferent vehicle but the front bracket was a pretty good fit and worked out well.

The longer travel shocks have 2" less up travel, longer bump stops required, so even though you'd gain down travel, you lose up travel. The shock length you have works best for max up and down travel without other parts required.

Thanks @Crikeymike so the shocks are protected internally somehow against top outs then right?

@Crikeymike can you please confirm? I want to make sure the existing combo doesn't risk damaging the shocks if one of the rear wheels comes off the ground. I am assuming so for now since for the fronts the springs are literally preloaded in a top out condition, but there's also no solid axle up there.

Yes, those shocks are made for your car when using those leaf springs and everything else you bought.

A stock tacoma can lift wheels off the ground and the shocks don't blow up
