    I’m

Hi there! I’m looking for some input advice. I recently purchased the IMS kit for my 21’ OR taco. I currently do not have any weight in the front or rear, however I have plans to do an aftermarket front bumper + accessories (winch and lights). Expecting to be ~200 lb after all said and done.

my question is what front springs I should go with?

I originally purchased the C59-314 which has about a ~600 lb spring rate, but that was before I had plans to install the bumper.

The parts I purchased are backordered are currently backordered and have not shipped yet so I am considering getting the C59-352 (730lb spring rate).

my dilemma is that I don’t have plans to purchase the number for another 6 months and I know that the 730 spring rate will ride pretty rough without the extra weight. Thoughts?

Ultimately with 200lbs added up front, you should be using the 352 coils. You can either get them now and live with the firmer ride until you add the weight. Or buy and change out the coils at a later date if/when you actually add the weight. Or move up the schedule of adding the weight.

Thanks Mike. Another question, with the IMS would I lose performance if I do. 3” lift in the front and 2” in the rear?

i know saving room for down travel on the front suspension is important and debating if I should lift 2.5” in the front instead of 3”? I would like to have the extra .5” but it’s not worth sacrificing performance for me.

Also, if I stay below 200 lb with the bumper/accessories will the 314 coils handle that no problem?

Lifting it takes way from useable down travel, so no matter which way you look at it, it's generally better to less lift than more. The only reason to lift more is if you need the ground clearance, or want it to look a certain way.

The 314's become quite compressed at 200lbs, which is why there are other stronger springs listed to support higher weights. If it's 100-150lbs, then those 314's are OK. Anything more than that, and they're not working so well.

are IMS59-50220 progressive or digressive? what is the difference between IMS59-50220 and IMS59-50221 what is the difference between GS59-574 and GS59-220? (I have GS59-220 on my 2nd gen). Which Dobinson's shocks have the longest travel? what size springs are needed for the IMS59-50220?

    Thanks!

My SPC's on my 3rd gen busted so since I have to swap them out anyway I may as well swap out for some new shocks and coils too!

    Progressive.
IMS59-50221 doesn't exist. Only IMS59-50220 was ever made for the Tacoma.
GS59-574 is for a 4Runner, not a Tacoma. GS59-220 is the longest twin tube option for a Tacoma.
The springs listed for a Tacoma are what are needed for a Tacoma.
