Has anyone had dobinsons suspension? Can someone compare them to other options like kings and bilstein?

My only experience with them is on a '19 4runner sr5 with 25k on the stock shocks. I got the twin tubes and comfort valved rear shock with normal valving in front with only a mild lift with the springs, 2" in the front and 1" or so in the back. All I can say is that 4runner drives night and day difference for the better.

Of course for our Tacoma's, that isn't a great comparison since we have leaf springs. That and I got the cheapest shocks they offer. They did great on the easy trails at Cline Butte OHV in Oregon (friends skipped out last minute so we stayed on the easy trails going solo). Great on and off road and the 4runner takes corners like my stock '20 Off Road Tacoma, or even better, it's hard to pry from my wife's hands lol.. Then again the 4runner now has e rated tires so more of the, not a great comparison.

I think they offer a solid product if you are looking to lift up to about 3 inches. You also have to take into account that different shocks arr also either digressive or progressive so that can change the feel on the road.

I will say Mike is easy to talk to and will help you get what you need for your vehicles weight and lift needs so costumer service is top notch at exit offroad (or on this forum in the dobinson thread https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/dobinsons-16-taco-suspension.474308/).

Thanks man, I have been looking for that thread.
I hear and see a lot of pros about dobinsons. Most notable is there longevity and like you mentioned customer service. I am not looking for the cheapest lift, just quality and longevity and a better ride when I’m fully loaded. I do a lot of hauling/ camping/ fully loaded day trips. Lately my truck is so heavy with sliders and skids I have been bottoming out a lot more often. I think I should get this suspension done sooner rather then later. I’m not looking for more then 2.5” of lift. But will definitely need new leafs. Mahalo for the info!

Does the Dobinson "kit" also address the taco-lean?

If you get the twin tube shocks add a Quarter inch spacer to your order. If you order the IMR or or MRR shocks the spring seat height is adjustable to compensate for lean.
