    Three words. Piece of shit. I work in a dealership in the used car reconditioning department as a tech. The interiors of those are cheap. The suspension is crap. The drivetrain is well made my Chrysler so it sucks too.

    One of my friends g/f had to have one of these. He said its starting to fall apart and only has like 50k on it. I'm sure she doesn't take care of it but that doesn't really matter it's a Chrysler product.

    I got my dad a Caliber because that is what he wanted. They share many things with the Nitro. I regret getting him that car and the only reason the car still works is because in like 2 years he has put less than 2k miles on it and has it covered up all the time.

    Dodge sucks unless you get something from their more expensive units and even then... Go Japanese, it will always be worth it.

    Also, it seems some of the new Fords like the Edge are being decent, I still do not trust any car that is American. I have had too many bad experiences and still own plenty.

    In the end it is about what you and your wife like. If you like it, go for it, but let it be known that you will have many problems down the road.

    I had a 2002 dodge neon before the Taco. I never had any mechanical problems with it-- but it never sounded like it ran quite right. Since it was my first car, I didn't realize how crappy it was until I got my Tacoma and had something to compare it to. The fit and finish of the Dodge cars isn't great.

    They are not bad. The floor sucks, you have like no leg room. They also get terrible gas milage around 14mpg, every rental customer complained about the gas milage. They are also quite slow. They stood up the the abuse of the rental business though I will give them that.

    i have heard some horror stories, and some good ones. but you wonder if some owners are so emabarrased about the trouble their dodge is causing that they refuse to admit the truth about them

    Every Jeep and Dodge owner I know tells me wonders about their cars. I ride their cars for 2 minutes and I already hate them.

    I got 2 Jeeps and 1 Dodge and I hate them all and openly say it as much as possible.

    Also, every recall that Jeep and Dodge has done that has affected my rides, I have had to fix with aftermarket parts, because their problems keep happening.

    A perfect example is my Jeep Liberty, they had a recall for the ball joints. They did the recall. It still had the problem. I went and bought Moog joints and plates and goodbye problems.

    Oh and also, working on Dodges seems to be uncomfortable as hell to me for some reason. My Tacoma is so easy to work on, so was a 4Runner and Pathfinder.

    Buying a car that is going to be discontinued will drastically drop its resale value, not add to it.

    Rented a Dodge Journey this past Summer when we went to lower 48 ... nice size, styling and interior layout, but the fit and finish was not great. I wouldn't buy one. That is all.

    Yuck! Fugly as hell. Driver floorboard is like ridiculously narrow. right up there with the pathetic turd (PT) Cruiser! Offroad looking wannabe......sorry, probably a bad forum for Chrysler questions.

    Dodge = Avoid.

    There's a reason why its being discontinued. Its probably a disaster that Chrysler want to forget and so should you.
