Does anyone actually like the chrome rear bumper?

It's amazing how "things come around".

When Ford first started manufacturing cars, they came in any color you wanted,
AS LONG AS IT WAS BLACK.

Now all the rage is "blackout" this and black that.

The generations aren't all that much apart.....

Well applied chrome is a great anti corrosion coating. Chromed plastic? I can't see the reason.

I don't mind the chrome rear bumper at all. Personally, I like it better than color matched. I feel it looks balanced with CSM.

If I was going to pay money to do something other than chrome, it would be real metal bumper and probably painted with SteelIt black. When picking my options for my '22, I didn't want to pay for features that I knew I'd eventually take off. So, no BSM, or extra sensors, no Pro suspension, or step rails. My logic is, if you are going to upgrade, have it be worth it.

I like the chrome on two colors. Black and silver. Color matched on everything else is the way.

Not a huge fan of paint matched or chrome bumpers on most colors of these trucks, Black or silver look ok....can't go wrong with chrome and black.
I couldn't stand the "euro/altezza" tail lights and chrome bumper that came on mine, personally I think black bumper and SR5 tail lights look way better.

YES, solid steel. I backed hard into a 12" pine tree while truning around on a very brushy road deer hunting last season. Jarred me good, no damage, just some bark stuck to the steel on the right corner. Don't know where the white mark on left corner came from. Probably in a parking lot.

Just replaced a aftermarket rear bumper from Amazon only some of it was chrome plated. The center section where the tag is no plating, the entire inside had no chrome plating it started to rust in two days. Amazon got an ear full, said sent it back. OK no box "you have to have a box" or we can't replace it. Sand blasted the center painted it black. Fluid Filmed the back called it good. Pure junk but tougher than plastic.

Chrome = old school. I like it. Added a chrome exhaust tip to finish the 'look'. LOL

I'm fine with the chrome on the bumper of my truck. It does go well with the silver. Rather than spend my money on something else than color matched plastic.

I think it’s super ugly, just like OG cheese grater 16-17 grilles and ugly chrome bezel that goes around the grille in 18-19 models.

I’ve seen cheesegreater grilles painted black and they actually look very nice.

I love my chrome bumper and have replaced it twice due to dents. I’ve bought the last one with all the plastic fittings already on it for under $300 on Amazon. It takes an hour to take off and replace. They look great on dark trucks. My truck is a 2nd gen with still shiny black pearl paint.

I broke two of my chrome bumper corners, they are absurdly expensive to replace for what they are, so I went with a high clearance steel bumper instead. I'm not a big fan of chrome in general, maybe some subtle accents, but too much and it looks cheap.

Years ago I bought a gray painted heavy step bumper for my Dodge pickup.
I hauled it down to the hot dip galvanizing plant and had it hot dipped.
    It never rusted.

That's one of the best looking aftermarkets out there. At The Helm did a great job with both their high-clearance and regular rear bumpers. I will probably end up with one or the other at some point. Not in a rush to cut for the high-clearance bumper though. LOL.

Morgan is great to deal with, highly recommend ATH if you ever decide to pull the trigger. I messed up the cut on one of my bedsides (one of those things nobody but me will ever notice) and it still turned out great, no regrets. In my experience, all of your friends will be eager to come drink beer and give a helping hand because everyone wants to watch the guy with the $40k truck take a 4.5" cutoff wheel to the bedsides.

Hahaha... Right?!?! I can just see my peanut gallery offering their spectator support like, "ahh... I see you're going for the bolt-cutter trimmed look." Did you put trim around the cut. I've read that some people say that it will trap moisture into the cut area. I have no input to go on there. I wonder how people's cuts are looking a few years post alteration.
