Does anyone have any tips or advice for installing 1.5" lift (Bilstein 5100's)?

I would like to know about this too (vibration & shaking from a modest lift). I just added Tacoma TRD wheels and 265/75/16 Nitto Grapplers and the next step is to do a modest lift / suspension change (it's a 2016 Limited so the stock suspension is terrible). I was looking at a OME with LR UCAs. Any input on this setup? I want to be able to do some lightweight off-road (mostly fire roads, farm roads) but not so lightweight that I can't do some legit off-road (no rock crawling) out west.

Any feedback on OME shake and shimmy?

For a budget lift I guess. But more shocked that he even lifted after all his diff issues and hinting that that he wouldn't because of future potential problems.

Don't need to go crazy to go up 1.5 inches.

I AM surprised he lifted though.

I did the Bilstein 5100's up front set on 3rd clip (1.1" lift) and a 1" rear spacer also with the 5100's. No issues whatsoever. Rides great. No vibrations. No rubbing with 265/70-17 KO2s. AAL springs can be very stiff without much weight in the bed.

No need to lift to go off-roading. You already did the most important thing and that's tires! Go out and see how it performs, then decide if you want to lift.

It would be a one time replacement, only if you have the vibs.

Yeah my service manager told me as long as I kept it below 2" I'd be OK as my case is very well documented. The 6112 /5160 combo with progressive 3 leaf AAL is actually an upgrade in performance and ride over my stock TRD OR suspension. I was very skeptical going in but I've been super impressed by it so far. It does maintain control and absorb bumps better off road. It also seems to hold better in cornering on the road. Interestingly enough I also cannot hear any diff whine now that the rear end is lifted slightly. I feel like this further supports theories of driveline angle playing a role. Update: I can still slightly hear the howl.

No, the bushing is has an estimated lifespan of 500K miles per the manufacturer (ECGS). The Toyota Needle Bearing will fail at some point (lift just seems to accelerate when that might happen) when the bearing fails, the ECGS clamshell bushing is the permanent solution.

What did you buy specifically? I will literally buy the exact same thing to get this howl to go away.

How much did you pay all said and done?

Now that is some great news to hear.

Glad something on your truck has been corrected although it sucks you had to dig into your own pocket and alter the truck to find a solution.

Wheelers 3 leaf progressive pack and 5160s for rear, turd gen 6112s for front, all pro flip kit with wheelers superbumps that go with the all pro kit. Superbumps for front too. Bought a tub of energy suspension grease for the leaf springs based on GPSEVINSIXX advice. Set the 6112s to 5th notch on driver side 4th notch on passenger side for 1.5" lift in front based on the bilstein instructions.

Got the 6112s from race consulting agency for like $559 on sale. Killer deal couldn't pass up. PM me and I can send you some links and stuff if you want. Very mild lift. Parked next to a stock limited the other day.

Yeah, I'm running an ICON progressive AAL with the overloads removed as well. Better ride than stock. I work my truck, it goes off road, does farm chores, and hauls a horse trailer but mostly it's empty i.e. 85% of the time. It's too new to say if it will sag in time, it has 30000 km on it but time will tell. It's almost level, with a TRD Pro in front and rides great, I'm glad I didn't use the overload but I've still got it if I need it. It's no big deal to stick it back in there if that day ever comes.
