Hey OP lift or do not... why worry about it? The worrying part is just not necessary. These trucks are pretty tough ... why lift if its going to stress you?

I would be stressed going off-road with the crappy stock suspension that was on my Sport. IF I fucked up the suspension going off road the dealer would probably not cover it anyway...

Trucks break when you beat on them, eventually... get truck fixed and back on the road again. Changing to different suspension that stock is likely going to "beef" it up some.. Keep it under 3" of lift and you should have no problems with other components. Headstrong off-road is your friend.

Yep admittance via fixing a problem risks them setting a precedent. Also if the truck is modified usually they will note this on the info file for your vehicle (which I believe gets stored and shared Toyota Corp wide, so all dealers will see it is flagged). If the dealership fixes it, Toyota Corporate finds out there was a modification, the dealership could be risking out of pocket expense for that warranty work. The way warranty work has been explained to me: dealership has to get corporate approval to do the work, this ensures corporate will reimburse the dealer for the cost of the parts / labor; So if there is a discrepancy in the way the dealership performed the work...if the dealer did not follow procedures as outlined by Corporate, if they didn't follow the rules, they risk not being reimbursed.

Do you mean that your purchase the lift and they install? Or do they have them available? I haven't seen anything offered from any dealerships in my area

Thanks. I will probably be contacting them soon. I am in Hayward. But have found that good service here is not as easy to find as I was accustomed to (moved here from Oregon.) I will gladly make the trip for some solid work. Anyway, they are finally opening things up. May make a trip out of it :bananadance:

No the dealership offers lifts that you purchase from them and they install. Granted they’re not the best lifts (shocks and blocks for the most part) but depending on if you plan to off road the truck or not, you may be fine with that.

The only thing that can be voided are the parts associated with the lift and those directly affected. If you change the angle of the CV joints and they wear out quickly, they are not covered, etc.
