Does the Gen 1 share a bucket seat with the Gen 2 4Runner?s

I’m looking for a new driver’s seat for my ‘02 double cab. I’m having a hard time finding any Tacomas in local junkyards— the ones that are there are usually picked clean. I’m wondering whether the 4Runner seat will fit in the Tacoma, since they have almost identical interiors. That would broaden my ability to find a seat. Does anyone know?

Always good to share where you are someone might have what your looking for.

Not a direct Bolt in. Not to hard though to make them work.

The only true bolt in replacements are other first generation seats .

Expensive Aftermarket seats ordered for your truck.

Fabrication allows you to install about anything you might like.

The 1st gen Tacoma and 3rd gen 4Runners share a lot of the same type of items. Whether a 2nd gen 4Runner does, perhaps someone with that gen can chime in.

 

I started making adapters to help bolt 3rd gen 4runner seats (96-02). I believe the 2nd gen 4Runner seat can bolt into a tacoma, but they arent any better than the tacoma seats.
