Go in to start the truck but i don't always hear anything turn over or attempt to. it's just silent. sometimes it's fine sometimes it isn't. if i hold the key there a few seconds later(random intervals) everything would kick in and it would start no problem.
it did this about a year and a half ago but just stopped on it's on. it just start doing this again this morning. i mean, i'm almost at 200k so i wouldn't be surprised if my starter is starting to die.

It's possible. But I would make sure your battery connections are good and clean & all your grounds are tight & clean first. I've seen your symptoms many times caused simply by a poor connection & not the starter.

Does it make a loud click but not turn over? Ever had it get hung in?

My truck has less and 90,000 on it and the starter went out. If it's not making noise then I'm not sure if its the starter, could be something electrical. Possibly starter solenoid?

Pretty common for the starter solenoid contacts to wear out. You can get a re-built kit for less than $25. Try that before replacing the starter.
