Noticeable vibration braking from around 20ish mph down to full stop. Before and after lift.

That could be a pinion angle issue. Have you measured your working angles?

Not yet. Problem isn't that big of a deal yet, just annoying and a little worrisome.

Here's what might be a wild suggestion...
In high school I drove a mildly lifted Ford Ranger (~4"/33's) and had some pretty severe driveline vibration. The truck was an extended cab and had a 2 piece driveline. Tried lowering the carrier bearing cross member, new u joints, shims etc etc and could never get rid of the vibration. I hated that 2 piece design. To me it always seemed like a band aid solution for the extended cabs. So after trying everything I could think of, I had my local driveline shop make me up a 3/4 ton one piece driveline and BINGO! No more vibration whats so ever at any speed.
    Might be worth looking into?
That was 15+ years ago and the driveline cost me around $250. Hopefully someone one here go that route and reports back to us? Or I might just try it again and see if Toyota will pay for it??? haha
    Worth a post at least

I have it. It's only there under load (it seems).

This is one of the few Tacoma issues that doesn't bother me that much. In my case it feels like an engine doing its thing. I know others have stated their issue is way worse to the point of putting their hands and feet to sleep/ making them numb.

What does that sound or feel like?

I'm at about 6600 miles on my 2016 DCSBOR. I put a 3" lift on before leaving the dealer, and recently started hearing a harmonic vibration in the front end, accompanied by a low harmonic sound.

The vibration changes with vehicle speed, not engine speed.

    Any insight will be appreciated.

How much of a vibration are we talking about? I didn't feel anything until I read about it on the forum, then I started to pay attention. I have a slight vibration, that is very light and only for a second. Nothing that bothers me at all. If it was a 90K Mercedes, it might bother me.

Not a vibration, but I did have a subtle buzzing noise coming from the glove box area at around 2000 RPM's. Drove me nuts, and took me till almost 8000 miles to finally solve. There is a bundle of wires under the glove box, off towards the right side nearer to door. Tighten it up with zip ties, and make sure to tighten the back end of the bundle, towards the engine. It was a simple thing that drove me insane. Yes, this is sort of off topic, but I wanted to share.

This is my first post, I googled the issue and found this thread. I have a 2017 Off-Road with A/T it had 75 miles on it when I got it, it now has 300 miles on it. This is EXACTLY what i experience around 2100 RPM. The steering wheel buzzes and makes my hands feel numb, like I was using a weed-eater or chainsaw. It feels like its related to the exhaust system, but hard to say. It feels like it's getting worse.

Its not a vibration like an un-balanced tire or u joint or drive line issue in my opinion. Its a buzzing or humming that you can feel and hear simultaneously. Don't really know what it is, new to tacoma's, but i'm not stoked, its the ONLY flaw in an otherwise amazing truck. I think I will take it back to the dealer when I have a chance to get their opinion.

You actually want this 100+ page thread:

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/buzzy-vibration-at-certain-rpms-read-before-buying.397620/

I'll save you some reading though and say the issue is not fixed and is deemed normal by Toyota. The vibes in mine were strong and never got worse but never got any better over 22k miles before I got rid of the truck.

I have a 2020 tacoma auto 4x4. I have had the steering wheel, gas pedal and floorbosrd vibration (elec toothbrush feeling)caused by exhaust. I added 3 exhaust dampers and it took 80% of it away.i also suffered from shuddering while braking..if I use the brakes really hard it seems smoother.or if i wait until after 20 mph it seems smoother basically normal even if I lightly hit the brakes .i have 17,000 miles on my truck so the brakes are def worn in by now and I have gone through spats of using them hard and bedding them in and still it comes back so I go back to using the brakes hard and its better but not normal .im about to redo the rear shoes and drums and see if that helps.im also gonna measure the axle flange and make sure its to spec since there was a tsb on then a little bit ago about them being under jist a hair...i also have vines on decal. If I slow down around 20 mph to qt mph no brakes just letting ir coast it sounds rough and vibes ...atleast im getting somewhete tho.... Most other toyotas with this engine use these dampers .ours tho has that fuck with the valves and call it atikson bullshit so im sure that makes it worse...im telling ya get this damper ...i placed one righr infront or behind the cat on the drivers side, one after it crossed under the t.c. and one before the muffler ..made a huge difference ...almost feels like a normal vehicle .best 160 bucks I ever spent . I may get the maganflow overland series exhaust with helmholt resonator and see if its even better . pop the hood and look how close the down pipe is to the steering shaft and floorboard...

Got a 2020...not a vibration of any sort. My 2001 tundra had some. This taco is way better than many vehicles i've had as far as that goes.

I has to trade mine in 8 months and 4 dealers disnt care enough to help me figure the issues out...tge 3 exhaust dampers I put on almost took the buzz totally away but between 50-60mph light theottle i still got a little repetative drone .ermmm ermmm ermmm evwry 1.5 seconds .on top of the shuddering when braking(brakes already redone made no difference)and the decel vibration with no foot on brake pedal I just couldn't do it anymorem..gave me anxiety wondering wtf is going on..is it gonna be sonething major that breaks down the road but for now i just have to pucker my asshole evwrytime I brake and be annoyed every drive I take??? I needed to be able to drive and have things be normal .i am a very sensitive driver .i cant help it.. Im kinda upset about my experience I really wanted to keep and enjoy that truck but luckily I got a hell of a deal on the new truck and got about 6 grand more theb what I paid for the tacoma so i made out like a bandit ...maybe one day ill go back to a tacoma but ill def be doing a long test drive this time.last time I didnt have time to even get in the truck before signing papers .if your one of the lucky ones that has no issues I envy you . I was about to take some diff tacos for a drive and possible trade it in on one that didnt jave these issues but this deal.popped up and couldnt pass it up

No vibration of any sort on my 2020...at least not yet. A buddies 2019 TRD has some minor vibration at various speeds. Was told its pretty normal for that trim.

I feel a slight high freq vibration thru the Gas Pedal at low speeds? New 2022 100 mile on it. Not a tire shake only in the gas pedal at low speeds 20-30 MPH or so steady throttle. I think it goes in hand with the exhaust system noise I hear at the same time. So used to a smooth ride in the Challenger I felt the tingle in my foot. So maybe I need to look at the exhaust hangers and see if they used the rubber isolators. It is not bad but I still feel it and was wondering why being brand new? Guess I need to look under the truck again to see. I will check my pictures first I took today.
