I have noticed that my 01 3.4 V6 Tacoma keeping varying in idle. When it idles for a long period of time the idle with jump from 1000 rpm to 1200 rpm for a short period of time and back to 1000rpm then the cycle will repeat. The first time it did this my first thought was an idle air control valve, but the rpms are not doing all the time and it does not move rapid enough to seem like a air idle control valve. Does anyone have any suggestions?

normal// its kicking the ac compressor on which idles the truck up to compensate for the drag it creates.

Bingo. Also, the powersteering has an idle up control on the engine.
