Finally picked up my '21 Tacoma TRD OR double cab. Need ideas for the backseat to accommodate 2 Border Collies.
    TIA

I removed the rear seat completely and would stuff the foot well with my sleeping bags to level it out. I put orthopedic beds on top of that. Removing the seat frees up a ton of space. Some people have made platforms, I'm sure they will be along.

Waterproof dog hammock. Best buy I made. Not only protects seats from dogs. But I toss my work junk back there too with out fear. PXL_20210314_145051366.MP.jpg PXL_20210314_145051366.MP.jpg

I was going to suggest a softopper, but in Texas that would be a poor choice when hot.

    Good luck with your search.

I got one of those plus some protectors for the doors.
Toss a couple old towels down and our dog can get in coated in mud or soaked from snow/rain/lake and it's all contained

I built a removable platform and then put my hammock cover over that. I will post some picks of it when it warms up a little bit. I got my idea from another thread on here.

Front hitch, 5100's, 885's, Snugtop XV, Slimline II, Sumos, bed platform, AAL, interior LED lights in cab and bed, exterior camp/backup LED's, Rigid DOT Fogs and D2 Pro Spots, Mega Ultra +130 bulbs, heavy-duty fog light, spot light, and low beam wiring harness, Weathertech mats, Re-routed dif breather and A/C drip line, dash cam, front and side cameras, anytime rear camera and nav, Blue Seas fused bus bars to cab and bed, heavy-duty bus bar w/Anderson quick disconnects under the hood for powering winch, solar, air compressor, and other accessories.
I made a platform out of 1/2" plywood, added 8# carpet pad, then covered it with indoor/outdoor carpet. A pool noodle and a towel is used to level it out on the seat. In each foot well, I put a piece of wood (with a base) to support the front of the platform. A waterproof dog seat cover and a towel goes on top of the platform for easy clean up.

I threw this platform/seat extension together and it has been working pretty well. It gives the dogs quite a bit more room in the back. The height of the platform is cut a little short of where the seats are so that I can add some foam/padding and level it out. So far I’ve just been putting towels to even it out. Bonus is I have something to try and wipe them down if they’re super wet or muddy.

I let her ride up front.

I reserve the backseat for her mom.

If the hammock-style seat protectors interest you, I'm happy with the Orvis brand one I have. Otherwise, they make foam backseat extenders too that may give them more room to lay with the seats left in normal position.

I have a Duluth Trading dog taco out back for Triten. No, they don’t call it that. Yes, they totally should.
