Yes. The yellow dome wire in the A-Pillar is switched negative.

My harness converts that to positive signal and handles the pulsed ground signal.

INTERESTED! was wondering though if this is the only way to have some rock lights turn on with the dome light?

Only way with both a switch and the dome due to the negatively switched circuit from the dome.

This would do that! Yellow wire from @DSIM harness would go to positive from rock lights and negative of rock lights would go to ground. No switch necessary. Would be an easy install. You can follow my write-up while ignoring the switch wiring.

Are you just looking for courtesy/puddle lights versus rock lights then since you don’t want a switch? (Come on when you approach/unlock the vehicle but not with a switch while driving/stationary)

There’s an OEM option (part # 00016-00069) if you just want just courtesy/puddle lights that includes a harness and lights or you can follow those instructions with your own lights. Or if you want increased capability, like adding a switch of your liking, you can use the @DSIM harness plus your own lights

For the price of the OEM kit, I’d recommend buying the @DSIM harness plus your own lights because you can get a lot more lights (8 or however many you want vs 4) or better quality lights and more capability (switch + dome trigger vs dome trigger only) for a cheaper price. My write-up I linked before walks you through that process. Install really isn’t too bad at all.

    OEM kit:

Smart people. Here's how my set up will look. This I think I know. How to properly connect it all is what I don't know. Can someone who knows chime in? (and the SwitchPro and ground are in the engine bay, not the cab...)

See Diagram. For wiring the switchpro itself please follow the instructions given with the product. For my harness it is simple. Red to constant 12v+ fused source. Black to the a pillar harness yellow wire. Yellow to the OUTPUT 12V+ from the switch pro to the rock lights.

Now here is the controversial part. For the mictuning switches I am not running a diode to prevent backflow to the switch. I actually like how the lights illuminate on the switch when the lights are triggered from the dome light. It's a nice feature and does not harm the switch. For the SwitchPro I have not been able to confirm if this would be an issue or not. I called Switchpro and asked but they gave me the run of the mill answer of "It is not recommended". Which does not mean it wont work. I would feel comfortable trying it in my own rig without the diode to make sure it works, but no switchpro. Really would like if someone could chime in and let me know here. But for now I would recommend putting a diode inbetween switchpro and the yellow wire to prevent backflow to the switchpro to play it safe.

Here is a link to the diodes https://www.amazon.com/1N4006-Diode...462690&sr=1-3&keywords=1N4006+Rectifier+Diode.

Great! Thanks for the feedback! I am assuming the 5 hours came from the rock light install, not my harness. Hit any snags?

Somehow still have 3 left folks, who wants em? :oldglory:

The 5 hours was for complete install and routing the wires. The only snag I hit was tapping into the wrong yellow wire in the A pillar. There is a yellow wire and a pale yellow wire. But I am very satisfied and happy with your product
