What size tires are good with what lift settings on bilstein 5100 I am going to buy the llift first with my 265's and then save up money for either 285s or 305s

I want to avoid looking overly lifted, but I would like something better than oem stance.

I have a DCLB and so I think I need larger tires to fit the truck..

I'm thinking 285s on a 1.75 in lift, or do you guys think the 2.5 would look better on my truck

Then I amm planning on going with as small a bar as possible over my bumper to mount aux lights on.... here I am also debating on grills. I like the oem grill I have, but the grills that are mesh and actally say Toyota on them are really starting to grow on me

And then possibly a cb raidio

The modding bug has infected me!

    Thanks a lot guys haha

    Get ready to rub!

In order for most people to fit 285's, you need a 3" lift, to trim a bunch of plastic, and possibly chop the cab mount.

Also need wheel spacers or aftermarket wheels with 4.5" BS.

Just get 265/75s if you are setting them at 1.75. IMO i think thats the best looking setup

    265/70's, not 75's. He's got the sport with 17's.

How would 265s look on the 1.75in lift? Too small?

285s and 305s won't work on 1.75 inches of lift...

at 2.5" you will rub like crazy too... but you can chop stuff to make 'em fit

285's are gonna be tough with just a 2 inch lift. I think your gonna have rubbing issues unless you do a body mount chop, from what i've read here. Also, you'd probably have to run spacers with the stock wheels, so you need to budget new wheels with 4.5 backspacing or so if your donna do those big wheels. Let me know how it works out though, i'm really wanting to do just a 2 inch bilstein lift and 285's, but I keep thinking i'm gonna have to get spindles instead to do it.

Yep your stockers are 265/65/17. The tires in the link Krimson gave you are 265/70/17 though, one size taller than yours.

I'd just rattlecan the stock rims black. A lot cheaper.

thanks guys, ill be on this asap, now that I'm not worried about my tires looking too small

Now id like you hear your guys words of wisdom on grills/barrs/aux lights I would either want oem grill with as small a bar as possible and aux lights or a mesh grill with "toyota written out on it" or a combp, who knows... this willl be for mostlly looks as I rarely offroad at night, so I'm thinking the small bar and aux lights

Btw, I've heard the lifts look better in real life

Some of these look like the truck is riding a little buggy, like with the front low

Any thoughts on 2.5 up front and 1.75 in trhe back

2.5 up front and 1.5 in back will level you out pretty well. You would need to get an add-a-leaf for the back. You can't accomplish the lift with the shocks.

I'm running the Toyota TSB leaf pack in the back, which gave me 1" of lift after settling. In the front I have Bilstein 5100's at 1.75.

My tires are 265/65/18's, which is the same width and diameter tire as the 265/70/17's we were talking about earlier.

If you want more details and pics of my setup, click the picture of my truck in my signature and it will take you to my build thread.
