I recently noticed that the drivers door doesnt chime when opened and the keys are left in the ignition...

but the passenger side does chime if the door is opened and the keys are still in...

can anyone point me in the right direction to figuring this problem out...I recently uninstalled a viper alarm system, and I know that taps into a lot of crap down their but I was careful to make sure any wire that were disconnected were reconnected

anyway all your help and advice is always appreciated!

Is your dome light coming on when you open the driver door? On my old car the sensor that gets "pushed" when the door is closed and "released" when the door is open was seized. So therefore my dome light didn't come on, and my "key in the ignition" sound didn't come on, since the car still thought my door was closed. Just a thought, you may want to check the actuation on the door sensor.

for the first poster...the dome light does come on when the door is open...I know exactly what your talking about and I actually have already checked that unfortunatly...

    for the second poster...

-when your referring to the door ajar switch are you talking about the little sensor that is pushed closed when the door is shut, and springs open when the door is open...if so were all talking about the same thing so far :(
