You just have to pop off the little trim piece for the door/window controls and add some filler in there to stop the plastic from rattling. Pretty common thing. It stop if you just light touch that trim piece, so by adding something to hold it firm should do the trick. Just stick some packing insulation or whatever you have in there to firm up the trim piece.

    Real easy.

Just pry it up from the very top. I used a flat head to pry it up just enough to get my fat ass fingers under it, then I used my hand the rest of the way. The entire trim piece will tilt towards you. Then all you do is clip it back into place when done.

What black trim piece? The piece right under the window? I'll post a picture of my door panel in a few minutes

I have a 2012 double cab. Is the trim piece the one with the tweeter speaker in it?

Just pops right off, start prying gently with your fingers from the front. Don't need to remove anything but that little piece. To confirm its coming from that small piece, when you heart it put your hand that piece and see if it stops.

Is that a common alternative for sound deadening material?

It's been widely used in the auto industry for years. It's a very cheap material used to muffle engine and road noise. Only bad thing is to not to get it wet, it literally becomes like a wet sponge.

So I got the trim out. Where do I apply the tape? Does it just snap back on?

Its been a while since I did it, but once you pull the trim off, the entire window and door lock assembly is attached. Its one piece. I taped around that and underneath the black trim (you can only put so much tape as too much will make it difficult to fit back in). The squak/rattle I was experiencing was between the black plastic and grey plastic rubbing together. Youll see what I mean.

So I pulled out the trim piece. I wiped the sides/front/back with some rubbing alcohol then applied some pretty heavy duty double sided table. I put the piece back in. I turned the stereo on and played a bunch of different music with different sound types and stuff. No rattle. I can sleep at night now.

    Thanks everyone.
