    Hello All,

My name is Drew, this is my first Toyota and first Tacoma! I picked up my 2017 TRD OR DCSB with the Premium and Tech Pack, Tow Pack and OEM All-Weather Mats and Door Sill Protectors on 2/28/2017 with 8 miles on it. I've been doing and continue to do lots of reading, thinking and preparing for the direction I would like this truck to go. Below are all the mods I plan to do in the future along with the mods I have done and their respective installation dates. I will provide links to anything I can so you can implement them into you build if you choose to. My plan with this thread is to document my build and travels with my truck!

    Plans for my rig include:

    Aesthetics/Interior/Exterior:

    Overland/Camping:

    Lighting:

    Electronics:

    Armor:

    Offroad/Recovery:

    Suspension, Wheels and Tires:

    Performance:
    • Nitro Gear 5.29s (Installed 9/13/19)
    • (Installed 4/14/19)

    Miscellaneous:

    Build Progress:

    Update 3/13/17:

    Derped Grill and Badges: (DELETED)

Tailgate Inlays and Factor 55 LLC Hitchlink 2.0 w/ Crosby Shackle:

    Rear Seat Storage and Preparedness:

First aid, TP, bottle jack and tire equipment under rear passenger:

Sockets, torx, hexs and other assorted tools as well as my reusable grocery bags behind rear passenger seat:

Jumper cables, tarp, paper towels, mag light, 4" fixed blade knife, assorted zip ties, bungee cords, gorilla tape, electric tape, lighter, matches, flares, glow sticks, 550 cord and fire extinguisher behind driver side rear seat:

ARB Snatch Strap and 2 extra shackles under driver side rear seat:

    Update 4/9/17:

    RokBlokz Mud Flaps:

    Debadged Door-Side 'TACOMA':

    Total Chaos Bed Channel Stiffeners:

Super happy with these already! Honestly, haven't used them for much but I installed them in anticipation of the Leer 100XR I'll be putting on the back at the end of the month. I sheared the OEM 10mm M6 bolt that was meant to be reused for the top hole on the bed-side during the installation of the stiffeners so I went to ACE and upgraded the hardware. Not psyched I couldn't find the right washer in black and ended up needing to use two....but oh well! I'm going to put 500 or so miles on the truck and re-torque them at that time.

    TRAVEL:

Took a trip into the mountains for the first time in a couple weekends and got about 30 trail miles in on the Switzerland Trail and surrounding dirt roads west of Boulder, CO yesterday. I took it easy as it was my first time with the truck off road.

Weekend trip to Moab on 6/9 - 6/11/17. Did a lot of hiking and even got a little time to blast through the 20+ creek crossings on Onion Creek Trail near Fisher Towers. Camp was made at the Lower Onion Creek Campground next to the Colorado River and is highly recommended. See pics.....

Quick trip up to the mountains on 7/2/17 for a little wheeling near St. Mary's Glacier. Did the Cumberland Gultch Trail to start and eventually wove our way through the never ending Yankee Hill system. Good day all in all! Had my buddy and his new Taco and another buddy and his Tundra sitting on a 4" lift and 35" tires.

Great ideas for the truck. I'm going to have to give Switzerland Trail a try :).

I took 25# braided fishing line and sawed through the adhesive pulling the badges off. Then i pulled the adhesive off of the truck and wiped away the extremely minimal residue with goo gone. No need to for heat guns and the whole nine yards.

    EDIT:

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/show-me-your-tacoma-debadged-on-the-door.484691/

check out this thread for more pics of debadged trucks i started because i couldn't commit to just doing it lol

    Update 5/21/17:

Leer 100XR w/ Driver and Passenger Side Vented Windoors and Removable Sliding Front Window:

    DIY Drawer System: V1.0

    SumoSprings:

One of the easiest, fastest installs I could have asked for. These pushed the ass back up to the factory 1 inch rake I had before adding nearly 300 pounds to the bed. I had fallen to perfectly level in all corners measuring 21 inches hub to fender, after the SumoSprings I pushed the back end up to 22 inches hub to fender. The ride is really good and it allows me to hold off on a lift for a little longer while I build other aspects of the truck.
