Double Cab 2011 Tacoma

Is there a noticeable difference in power/acceleration/pepp between the access cab and the double cab 4L V6?

 

If it has the same engine, then the double cab would theoretically accelerate at a slower rate because it is heavier (more cab). And even more so with the long bed.

That said though, I doubt there is any significant difference.

 

I test drove both before buying my Double Cab and I didn't notice any difference.

So you aren't happy with the pepp/acceleration of your truck? I bought mine, so it's a done deal anyways… But I was under the impression that they were pretty powerful. I know it's a truck, i'm not expecting a race car, but I thought that these trucks were far from sluggish.

 

The acceleration in my double cab does not disappoint.

 

same engine, same power, DC weighs 100 lbs more. take your pick.

DC LB is nice to have, just wanted to make sure I wasn't sacrificing significan MPG/Power to get it.

 

If you could drive them blindfolded (don't try this at home kids), I doubt that you could detect any difference in acceleration. My double cab puts my boat and passes slower traffic easily.
