Looking at the specifications from the current truck and new one for double cab long bed 4x4:

As TacoJohn stated, the cab dimensions did not change only the internal components which led to the differences in the dimensions.

    In inches, front/rear.

    2016:
    • Head room
    • 39.7/38.3
    • Hip room
      57.2/56.3
    • Leg room
      42.9/32.6
    • Shoulder room
      58.3/58.9

    2015:
    • Head room
      40.2/38.5
    • Hip room
      53.6/55.2
    • Leg room
      41.7/32.6
    • Shoulder room
      57.7/59.3

I think front gets more hip room because the console is smaller. Not sure how they got more hip room in the back. Maybe thinner dor panels.

Guessing head room went down due to insulation additions? Wish they showed how they measure these.

Got anything on the distribution of that interior space? Does the back seat pick up anything in the reconfiguration?

Not sure if I'm understanding your question exactly but if you're asking what i think you're asking, the front and rear dims in inches are shown , "FRONT"/"REAR"

yeah, that's a good guess... funny, the overall height of the exterior grew 0.5" ... which i initially thought was tire size but they all show 70.6" no matter the Grade (SR/SR5/TRD/Limited)

I don't mind the drop in headroom, because I drive with my sunroof open 90% of the time. Even in below freezing temperatures, I blast the heat and open the top.

I couldn't do that in the winter. I'd have snow fall on me.

Not a lot of bugs in Maryland winters. Too cold.

Not a lot of snow, either. Too warm.
