I'm going to put a single 8 or a 10 be hind the rear seat of my 07 double cab and I want it to look clean plus I want to keep the storage bins. Was thinking about behind the pass side. Can someone point me in the right direction. I can't afford a jl stealth or a mtx box so I need to make something

That single sub box is not bad price from taco tunes it will look nice inside your storage bin. Just make sure you call and ask if you have to remove the back of the seat (thick plastic part) with whatever box you go with. Some stick out too far and rattle.

The black plastic behind the one seat will have to be removed for the single box, but you don't have to remove the double or the child restraints. Not sure about the actual plastic attached to the back of the seat though. I saw him removing it in one of his videos.

What i meant was inside your bin if u cut out space for it then it will look nice and custom. you want a box that you dont have to remove back of seat (not storage tray) that looks dumb and you cant use seat as platform when folded down cause its just the exposed foam. If he did it in video then you have to cause there is no other readon for taking it off. Ask around find one that fits right u may need to remove child restraints. I bought a "spot welder" drill bot for 4$ on ebay it removed welds so easy it took me about 2 min eat restraint hook and looks clean i can reuse them with bolts if needed in future.

Alpine type R shallow can play with lower plastics on as long as the right box is built for it. The sub cone is protected by a ring around it. The sub can't excursion past that point. So as long as the plastics aren't pushing hard on the sub its ok. The face of the sub is not protected.

    OP

If you have the ability to build your own box or know someone who does I can send you a .pdf that has all the info you need to build a sealed box behind the passenger seat. Send me a PM if you are interested.

I just did a 10" shallow mount MTX behind my passenger seat (yeah I lost allot of storage which I regretted until I cranked the stereo for the first time). Its all about priorities.

I made a custom box which houses my sub, amp and a small storage pocket which perfectly fits a socket set. There isnt much room for anything else afterwards as far as storage. The plastic part on the passenger seat also has to be removed for clearance using the specs I have. The specs I have are custom to the volume requirement for my sub and the size (width) of my amp. You can modify the sub volume and amp room /pocket size if you have a different system. I was stuck using an old mono amp I had from my previous car so I didn't have much choice on that.

If you build your own box you will save some money for sure. I got the materials (screws, staples, adhesive/glue, sealant, and MDF) from a local hardware store for fairly cheap if you shop around. The carpet and speaker terminals I found easiest to order online although if you look around locally you can probably find them. As for tools you will need a drill, staple gun, caulking gun, jig saw, and table or skill saw.

    Here are my specs:

Mines not perfect, but on a second attempt I could do better haha.

    Good luck.

Im currently working on a 2014 Dc,
We are doing 2 8s ported tuned 30hz via 4 inch precision flared port on driver side.
Box is built with 1/2 inch Birch ply with a 3/4 Inch Birch ply baffle with subs countersunk
Sub and mid amp under the driver and passenger seat

The box is built, just waiting to put the sides on after i toss a couple of layers over the seat bracket cut out.

When I'm fully done, we will do a build page for it and list all the dimensions, gear used and results

I'm not sure why people are so afraid of loosing the storage space behind the rear seats for anyway when you have the entire truck bed to put things! The space is too small to keep anything useful like a toolbag or bug out bag.

I much rather have an amp and a sub enclosure there.
