I know this is an old thread, but all of the good info within the thread, and your specific info (and the application chart) helped me to FINALLY track down the damn bronze gimbal center ball that I need to rebuild the rear driveshaft for my 99 4runner. Thanks so much for the help!

I've got no vibration, but mine has got some sort of rattling/squealing going on underneath when I take my foot off the gas at around 20-40 mph. Been doing this sporadically for some time, but now it's consistent.....until it rained one day. No loose anything underneath, so while I was thinking diff, my mind went to driveshaft after it quieted down during rain. Greased all the zerks, and seemed to stay quiet for a few days, but now it's back...maybe not quite as bad as before.
I read this entire thread thinking CV, but now I'm thinking center support bearing? One suggestion was to hit that with some lube, which sounds like a good idea to possibly isolate the issue. I was thinking of maybe replacing the rear Ujoint since it's quick, cheap and easy.
Question is......anyone every experience a CV problem....either the joints or the ball........ manifested as a squeal or rattle rather than a vibration ? How about a ujoint or center support bearing squeal?
