my drive shaft went out on me yesterday on my '99 Tacoma. I can't find any parts for the joint for a '99. is there a way to find out what the shaft is off of? short box with a lift and no hanger.

When I had my rear u joint pressed the shop told me to be very careful with that one (the double) as it can't be rebuilt and it is very expensive to replace.

It can be rebuilt. Jess at High Angle Driveline sells the joints. Toyota says its a non rebuilable part and almost nobody stocks those joints because of that.

I just rebuilt mine over the summer and had a heck of a time finding the correct joints.

Call that high angle drive line and tell Jess what your working on and he will know what you need. I think they were like 30 dollars or so.

Google High Angle Driveline and see what you get.
Those joints look like the Spicer joints that are no longer sold. Zerks are in the cap as opposed to in the center like OEM.
Then there is the angle of the flange to the tube. It might be the pic but a good DC joint should not be capable of that apparent misalignment. When bent, both u-joints should be at equal angles to the center "H" portion. Obviously you feel there is a problem with it but to me it looks pretty bad and may be beyond help. Pull it apart or have a good driveline shop look at it.
