Thanks everyone for helping me out. I think I will get the Doug Thorley headers and see how that sounds. If its not too loud I'll snag the Y-pipe as well. Then if it does end up too loud I will get a bigger muffler and possibly a resonator.

    A "Y" pipe is a resonator.

Correct! Not the same thing. I guess I have always refered to the resonator as the "Y" pipe.

So does that mean a set of DT Y-pipes with resonators might actually be quieter??

Got my DT ST headers in. Unfortunately, the muffler guys said the install might be over $600 if they have to pull my engine. Anyone else have to do this?

if you dont want rasp, you might look at the wicked flow max. I have a 13.5" on the stock pipes and is sounds great. if you are doing headers, y-pipe and so on, the 22" would probably be perfect.

I went to the muffler guys in person this time and they now say they WON'T have to pull my engine. PHEW! Now I'm just wondering if I should get Y-pipes installed at the same time and maybe save money in the long run. I won't be able to do the install myself since the short tubes need welding and I don't weld...
