Downhill Assist Control/noise.....normal?

"DAC" on, in 4wd Low, going downhills under 15mph: when it engages it makes some loud noises. The owners manual says it will make a "noise", but I'm getting what sounds like a roller coaster ratcheting sound along with anti lock brake noises and clicking noises. Trying to find out what anyone else's sounds like when in use.

 

Did you ever happen to get a reply to this question - I did not see any reply. My 09 TRD OR does the same thing and I was wondering myself if it was normal? Thanks

 

Loud is subjective, but lots of noises are normal when these systems operate, that is why there is special mention of it in the manual.......Basically it should sound like a full ABS panic stop. Only without any road noise to mask it.
