    Hey everyone,

Got around to changing the trans filter and pan gasket on my 2nd gen and having never stripped a pan bolt ever, it happened yesterday on my drain plug. Lesson learned, do not torque these to FSM spec. Other than that, everything else went smoothly, with no leaks to be seen. This truck is my DD, but I don't wanna risk any huge metal shavings floating around in the fluid. I inspected the bolt and the threads look a little marred, but it was just a bit tougher tightening the bolt onto the pan. Will I be safe driving this thing until my new pan arrives?
