    Drive it till empty
Call your wife so she can yell at you
Then spend $120 for a tow or
    Use you AAA

either way it will be cheaper than the setup or tools you will need to access drain and dispose of such

Hey RWL, I'm trying to get the gas out of my 2006 like you've done here. How did you get that fuel rail connector off where you put the vinyl line on? Seems like that lever part has a release somewhere I haven't found yet.

I'm assuming the one on the left comes off.

You have to remove the plastic safety retainer and then push the 2 buttons in on the side of the quick connect fitting to release it, just be careful as fuel may spray out if there's any pressure in the lines.

Ok I see now the claw part is just to align it properly when installing.

Is there a way to take the pressure out of the line without turning the engine over?
I read you can take out the pump relay, then turn over a few times but I'm replacing old gas before I turn it over.

There shouldn't be much pressure, I always just wrap a rag around the line before I remove it to minimize fuel spray.

Sorry to be late in responding, but the others have shown how it's done. It is a little tricky to figure out.

I still can't see how you remove the plastic housing off. Any chance you could explain further? Tank full of old gas that has to be removed and disposed of. Can't seem to figure out how to get the quick connect to separate.

DB I no longer have the truck since I traded it last year, so I can't go out and look at the fuel line to get other photos or describe getting the guard off. Disconnecting the fuel line is a two step process. You'll have to look carefully to see how the guard is snapped on over the connection. After the guard is removed, you push the yellow button in and pull it off. All of the above from memory.

Do you recall if you were able to do it without any tools, just your hands?

DB I just looked at the photos above and I can see that you get the guard off by pushing / sliding it to the side in the rectangular part. The guard then has a tail sticking down that attaches it to the metal tubing part of the line, and you just pull it off of that. After the guard is removed you can see the yellow button.

I don't recall using pliers or anything like that to get it to slide off of the actual connection. And I could also add from looking at the photos above that you push toward the side where the tail sticks down.

I'll give it a go, just wanted to confirm I wasn't supposed to use some tool. Should be interesting. Thanks for this post.

Screen in the tank prevents that from happening. Wish it was that easy. Glad it is there though honestly, non locking panel, if it wasn't for the screen, anyone could just siphon the gas from us.
