I just recently replaced my stock leaf springs after one broke with HD springs from General Spring in KC. The guys at General told me it would probably raise the rear 2" higher than stock and after a month or so it would probably settle to 1.5". My intent here was not to lift the truck, just to replace the original springs with something a little stronger.

I'm now noticing a bit of an occasional shudder at low speeds. I don't always notice it, it sometimes seems like it fades away when turning especially. I think I may notice it when coasting and decelerating more than when accelerating.

Is this a common occurrence with an angle change in the rear? Is there a solution to this?

Throw some weight in the rear and see if it stops the shudder.

What did you torque the U-bolts to?

I think it was about 80, though I don't have the numbers in front of me.

You guys should probably get the carrier drop or shims for the leafs. They are on toytec website.

I read somewhere that guys who lifted the front and rear didn't have this problem. I have Bilstein 5100s on all four corners. Would it help if I took the front up a setting?

No, it will not help. It only has to do with rear drive shaft angles.

Light bar and bumper guard, 3/16 steel skid plates for engine, tranny and transfer box, OME 881 springs with 5100 shocks at mid clip. AAL in rear. Positraction rear diff.
Make sure your tail pipe is not contacting the springs. I had that happen when I changed the spring set on my 2004 and some times it would shake the truck pretty bad and other times not so bad depending on the road surface.
