my truck is vibrating after lifting it and my tires are balanced. The steering wheel does not shake but the truck itself has a slight vibration. The local off-road shop recommended getting a drive shaft spacer. However, I cannot find any online. Has anyone else done this? And can you help me find the spacer?
    Thanks

Have you checked the driveshaft carrier bearing??? You might also think about lowering it some to help reduce the over all angle from the carrier bearing to the diff.

possibly it's lifted incorrectly or even too much ?
had to say without seeing pictures and having details.

But nine times outta ten it's an improper spin balance,
possibly failed by using the wrong cone or backing plate.

1st gen. Tacoma are lug centric.

So when spin balancing the wheel should be mounted
to a flat plate with the appropriate lug pattern in that.
Then secured (balance offset) using a properly sized cone on the outside.

I made my America's tire order the correct lug centric backing plate.
Never had a balance issue since I've been going to them.

It's not necessarily the spin balance machine that is used.
It primarily has to do with having the proper backing plate.

Many tire shops may not have the proper adapters...
and just wing it with what they do have.
Majority of vehicles out there are hub centric
and usually balance just fine with cone adapters.

    ask the proprietor

The 1st gen Tacoma are a little more finicky
    then the later Tacoma models.

Gotta be either the tire balance...
or something to do with the new lift/install, right ?

All pro has this one listed under the first gen section. But when you click on it, it says 05+.
Might fit ours. Give them a call and see. Otherwise shims.
You said it happened right after lift so I'd assume it's that and not the wheels. But if there's a chance it is the wheels, it happens, like mentioned above. I too had vibes I fought with and big o never got it right. Until I took it to discount tire and vibes were gone after balance. They must have the better ones.

Same here. Had vibes and every time I would leave Big O it was the same damn thing. Big O couldn't get it right. Fought it for 6 months. Took it to Les Schwab the first time and done! No more vibes. I had to pay $31.50 to get them balanced since I didn't buy my tires there so I took the receipt back showing how out of balance the tires were and asked Big O to pay me back the money I had to pay to get them balanced and they did!

+2 for shims. They are the most complete solution for rear lift with a double cardan type rear drive shaft.

So I'm kinda worried about this when I put in my dakars. Should I order some up anyways as they're cheap? Or should I not and wait to see how it does? It will be lifted about the same as it is now as I have blocks. Got a little vibes but think it's just my tires. Haven't got a balance in quite a while. But figured while I was at it with the leafs it would be easier to put them in at the same time. And do you have to get longer center pins with dakars and shims added?

FYI - this was caused by the Ebrake not being adjusted after lift. The driver side rear drum was dragging. Even after readjusting the shoes it would go right back to dragging.
