So I'm having a issue with the master driver side power window controls. I can open 3 out of the 4 windows. I checked the passenger side power window control to see if the motor was out, however it works perfectly.

What can possible be wrong where 3 out of the 4 controls work? I checked the fuses but don't think that would be my problem as it still works properly if operated on passenger side controls.

    Thanks for any help.

Did you unplug the drivers side door controller from the wiring harness for any reason?

Not recently, but even if I did, are all the controls separate? How do 3 out of the 4 work?

Switch, connectors or wiring. Did you get the switch wet or spill something?

Can’t answer that when we don’t know what you did...there is a reset procedure for the drivers side control. It’s very easy to bend or misaligned a pin in the connector. It’s not uncommon for a switch to fail see it a lot in a smokers vehicle.

Only time I unhooked the switch was when I out in the kick speakers 6months to a year ago. I used some wet ones to clean up the dirt and dust.... If I got it wet somehow, do I need to change out the unit?

Only if that is the problem. You will need a wiring schematic and a voltmeter. You will have to test if you have voltage to the switch first, then follow the path of voltage from the switch to window motor not functioning. When you find where the voltage doesn't pass through. You have found your problem.

@caribe makaira is the best I have seen here with schematics. So maybe he can help with that part.

Passenger window will not function from the driver side master control. However the window will role down from the passenger side.

The problem with taking it to the dealership was that they "needed to keep the truck for couple days to diagnose the issue" was hoping it was a easy fix but I may not have a choice.

    Don't they provide a loaner?

If not, and they need the truck 2 days, all the folks around here claiming to buy new for the 'benefit' of a warranty are rationalizing.

If your dealer doesnt offer a loaner without you having to even ask, you're going to a crappy dealer. Mine just assumes I'll need a loaner if they want to keep it overnight, and if it's expected to be a same-day service they offer shuttle service to/from work.

They only ask that I not have pets in the loaner car. Bastards. :cookiemonster:

I've always been offered a loaner in the past when they have already diagnosed a problem and know a time table of when the job is getting done. Maybe I misunderstood the service manager. I'll try back and see what they say about a loaner than.

If you had a buddy with same year Tacoma, you could swap the Driver's switch to test. (removing the negative terminal on the battery first, of course)

    It's complicated.
If you're unable to get the passenger windows to roll up/down by using the driver's button panel, but the passenger windows function correctly using their own buttons, then it's likely that you need to do a master-reset of the window functions. Yeah, it sounds screwy, but it happened to me.

Look at the instructions on this thread; I had to do this procedure on all 4 windows, from each window/button location.

I'm going to try this. Thank you.
This makes sense I think I can find a buddy to test this on.

    Thanks
