I was driving the taco today and had the sun visor pulled out towards the driver window. I made a quick left turn onto the interstate and the visor swung into my face.

Does anyone know how to stiffen it? I tightened the two screws holding it to the roof but it did not seem to work.

Hmm. It is cracked. I'm going to try a hose clamp. Anyone know where I can find the plastic piece?

Can you fit a zip tie around it, and pull it real tight?

I tried but the surface is too slick and it slips off. Also tried a tiny hose clamp but it has the same problem. I'm going to sand it some.

Saw that it was cracked, in your pic. Was thinking that at least one or 2 snugged up zip ties, might hold until you can get the broken one replaced. Good luck, and let us know how the replacement works.

Take some sandpaper and scuff it up, or use superglue/hotglue to make a lip so it does come up.

OK. So I tried a few things and the only solution that semi worked was using some stiff wire. After I reinstalled it it feels stiff enough to not move when driving but only time will tell. If anyone knows where to find the plastic piece please let me know. I am unable to locate it on https://parts.toyota.com/. I would hate to have to replace the whole sun visor. I love my decal. :)

I initially tried to use mini zip ties but the surface was too slick.
So I used a small Dremel to make a few grooves in the plastic but the zip tie was not tight enough.
I then tried to use the smallest hose clamp I found at Home Depot but it would still slide off the plastic.
I then used a stiff wire and twisted it really tight but it was not tight enough.
I tried to use the smallest hose clamp over the wire but it did not work because the diameter was too big for it.
Then I tried to use a larger hose clamp, and that got it really tight, but then would not fit in the hole on the roof.
Finally I decided to give the wire a few more twists and call it a night.

    Update.

Stopped by Toyota and they don't sell just the plastic piece. I would have to get a whole new visor for just over $236! That's crazy.

I guess I'm buying a used visor from eBay for $65.
