I have had my 08 Access Cab TRD Off-road for a couple months now and every time I sit in it for more than 15 minutes or so, my back is killing me. I do have arthritis from surgery years ago but I have never had problems like this in any other vehicle. Not only does my back hurt but I find the seat simply uncomfortable. I have tried every possible combination of seat setting but nothing works.

Does anyone else have problems with the seat? Any recommendations for making it more comfortable?

I like my truck but I can't live with the seat as it is now.

I've had a long history of back problems and thought I might have made a mistake replacing my old Dodge. Several weeks after buying the truck I was having a lot of back pain. The pain from driving lasted about a month and a half or so. But as time went on my body adjusted to the new truck and I now find it very comfortable. I would suggest giving it at least a couple of months to see if you adjust to your new ride.

    Good Luck!

When I first bought my truck, my legs would ache after I'd been sitting in it for awhile. Eventually it did stop hurting, though I can't remember how long it took. My chiropractor does keep telling me to take my wallet out of my back pocket when I'm driving, that might help, but I'm too used to it myself.

The front seats ARE very comfortable to catch a snooze in. I do it almost everyday before work. Parking is very scarce where I work, so you have to get there early.

When I first got it, I kept thinking, Man you sold your 01 which had very comfortable seats for an 05 with crappy seats! But they won me over. Far better than the crappy seats in my wife's Civic. Which is soon to be mine. Yaay

Friend of mine had a bad hip which led to a similiar problem. He ended up selling his truck. It was an 01, and I had just bought an 01 at the time, so I got a black bullbar and toolbox on the cheap!

Do you use the lumbar adjustment? The seats aren't great but I just drove 1200 miles round trip to NJ a couple weeks ago with no problems at all.

I had back surgery 3 years ago this coming Sept. No problems for me. Of course, surgery totally fixed my problem (herniated disc) at least for the time being. I play softball two seasons a year if that gives you any idea.

I had the same problem coming from a 05 Dodge Ram. In my third week of ownership, doesn't bother me anymore, also my wallet is getting heavier from the huge difference in fuel consumption , 05 Dodge Qaudcab 4x4 Hemi to 08 Double Cab 4x4 V6.

I had the sport seats in my old X-Runner and it used to kill my lower back. I didnt really notice it til I got out of the truck. In my new truck SR5 without sport seats my lower back has not bothered me at all.

I have the Sport Seats and have NO problem. I have had 5 major back surgeries and find the seats extremely comfortable. That's my story and I'm stickn' to it:D

The seats have lousy lumbar support. I put one of these in the truck and never had a problem after that.

Broken and scratched tailgate, cracked rear tail light lens, coffee stain in driver seat.
That was a huge concern for me also, but I find the seats good for a long drive, what helps me is to stretch my legs and back before and after, try and stay as limber as possible...or two shots of whiskey an a couple of codines !:drunk:

I'd suggest lower back strengthing exercises. If you think Toys have uncomfortable seats try a Honda! 2 Advil won't hurt either.

I find that my legs will hurt after a long drive. I think the lower portion of the seat(where your ass meets the fabric) should be a little longer. Basically the edge of the seat would end where the back of my legs bend.(behind the knee's)
