Drivers side door latch went bad

    2000 Tacoma driverside door latch went bad could not open driverside door had to replace door latch. Was working fine one day could not open door?

    the latch mechanism inside the door panel was failing to open, had to replace the latch inside the door

    I get that, what happened to make it fail? What broke? Not being an ass, just trying to figure out why it stopped working. :thumbsup:

    my access door had same problem...dealer said the cable was stretched and had it replaced...problem solved

    My driver-s side door latch won't 'release' the latch when I pull up on handle-truck is 15 yrs. old(2002 Tacoma)
    Trying to find JUST the latch assembly or at least a picture of it-:confused::confused::confused: without pulling the whole door panel apart.
