A TRD sport only seems to come on either prerunners or 4x4. So I beleive that the ones that you dont see a prerunner logo on the tailgate is a 4x4

the prerunner has the suspension and stance of a 4x4.....without the 4x4. the trd sport comes with the hood scoop and lsd and 17 inch wheels and the trd offroad comes with the rear locker and 16 inch offroad wheels.

    Somewhat.

Its a package. You can get it on a 4x4 or Prerunner.

gotcha...learn something new everyday...the DC with short beds look more stocky than my dc long bed...could it be the long bed that makes my truck look stretched out or could it be that it was debadged

Its longer, so it looks stretched out. I got the short bed because I couldnt stand the way long beds looked on a smaller truck.

^Huh? So you think that extra foot of your long bed makes a huge difference? There are many points to having a short bed. For example, people who offroad will have a better departure angle. Lower weight would be another. Or, people like me who don't NEED a longer bed and don't like the way they look.

That's exactly the way the dealership explained it to me.

They said the Prerunner was developed by TRD to do just what it says... pre-run the offroad courses so the teams knew where the tough spots were without sacrificing the uber vehicles ahead of racetime. A 2WD vehicle with the offroad suspension and locking diff got the job done nicely (just not as fast). Next thing ya know they were on the lot as an alternative to customers.

Anyone else hear that or did I get handed a load?

extra foot makes a difference dude...might as well have a suv if u want a short bed IMO...i do hate having to back into parking lots...and my truck does stick out the parking lot in my apts. but for the most part (moving materials for my house from san diego to baja) it has worked great plus if i need to haul quads its no problem

Thats funny I like the look of the short bed DC. Besides parking is so much easier too.

The 2 worst things about the long bed, and these are deal breakers:

    1) You can ONLY get it in an auto tranny

    2) Won't fit in my garage

That's why I got a shorty, and besides the shorty's look better anyways
