Hi guys , I’m new in the Tacoma trucks and was wandering , if I’m driving on ECT all the time is it going to harm the engine or anything will go wrong ?

No harm, no foul. Go to the classifieds section and get the ECT on mod from Meso.

The only advice I have is don’t bother. You will change your driving habits to suit the power band, shift pattern, and throttle sensitivity of the truck after a couple months and pushing ECT will fade into your memory. The truck drives fine once you adapt to it. Should it be this way?....hell no.....but it is, and over time it no longer matters.

If you choose to run ECT all the time the only thing you’ll hurt is your fuel economy.

To be fair, ECT's MPG on highway is exactly the same as stock, and almost the same in the city. The biggest drawback of using it in city environments, is that around 40-50mph, rpms will be elevated to 2k instead of the lower 1k band where it usually is.

I did ECT Always-On Mod. No problem running it for over 1.5 years.

ECT and other 'fixes' have been 'work arounds' for something Toyota messed up.

It seems that the latest TSB has finally corrected that. Hopefully.

    Almost. 4. Years. Later.

Like the folks I quoted say, I'd start there.

I tried using my OV Tune ECT in city traffic... It was like riding a bull. No more ECT in the city for me.
