What depth water can I drive through with my 15 TRD DC without problems?

Are the doors watertight across the bottom?

As deep as you can afford.

Best to avoid IMO. Do all you can do to make it less damaging anyway.

The streets here in Tampa have been flooding a lot lately. Lots of stalled out cars.

We don't have any water to drink, but the trade off is no issues with rusting frames.

If your going above that seal your probably going to have a lot of other issues too.

I got stuck in a mud hole and it was probably 2 or 3 inches up from the bottom of the doors and I got nothing in the cab. You could see the water line on the door jams and it was clearly above that. I spent probably a good 5 minutes there too until I got out lol

Here's my buddies tundra stuck in the same hole

You talking about a water crossing, like a river, in and out? Without engine / intake issues? I suppose as long as you don't immerse the airbox, you won't suck in water, so there should be no significant issues. You may have some ancillary short term issues like electrical gremlins or slipping belts but as the components dry out that should solve itself. For a short crossing you shouldn't see any water in the cab, and even if the exhaust tip is underwater briefly, if you are under acceleration it shouldn't choke the engine.

I base this on a lot of crossings on motorcycles, with a few fails and engine hydrolock to my credit. On the Tacoma, I won't go through water that's higher than the hubs, +/- a few inches.

OP, honestly. I wouldn't mess with water in a truck like this. You are going to be chasing your tail with electrical issues and possibly even mechanical for a while. These are too electrically dependent trucks to be taking through deep water. Unless you have deep pockets to match the depth of the water you'll be crossing. I wouldn't do it.

Oh also, your intake ice cream scoop is located right above the passenger side fender liner. You go through water that goes above your fender line, and you are screwed.

LMAO!!!!! Well played sirs, well played!!

    This is too true.

A foot of water shouldn't cause any issues. Just try not to take it any deeper than the axle unless you first do the diff-breather mod. Even then you're shortening the life of axle seals and bearings.

Also, don't hit it at 40. :mudding:

There is no rule of thumb. Don't do it.

A snorkel will not and does not protect you from deeper water.

Hydrolocking is probably your worst nightmare - as you can destroy your engine in an instant. Insurance won't always cover it.

Water & Mud can ruin just about everything under your truck from seals, bearings, gears, electrical, rust, etc.

Regular driving on wet roads is nothing. Puddles here & there are nothing. Flooding in your area? Don't take any chances....find another route.
