While I’m in here is there a good way to do away with the beeping when key is in ignition?

    There’s 2 ways.

    1. Pop apart the steering column clamshell and unplug the white plastic 2 wire switch on the lock cylinder. This has the unfortunate side effect of allowing you to lock your keys in the truck if you shut it off, leave the key in the ignition, and lock the doors. Make sure you have a hide a key if you do this.

    2. Remove the instrument cluster and remove the needles and face and unsolder the beeper and hope you get the needles back on correctly.

Update: I think if you depin 1J pin 5, it will silence the beeper without any side effects.

Took #5 pin out and it’s back together no beeping. Yay! Thanks!

Very cool. Now, with the key in the ignition and turned off, drivers door open, hit the door lock switch on the door and see if it locks and immediately unlocks, preventing you from locking your keys in the truck. It should also unlock if you manually push the lock in that same scenario.

Impossible to predict what went wrong, but if the rear is working, the flasher is doing it's job. Without the grey plastic jumper block, you would only have rear turn signals. The jumper block ties the rear turn signals to the front. The only thing that comes to mind would be a bent pin on the fuseblock or a connector not plugged all the way in. The left front turn signal output wire is a red/black wire at 1B pin 7.

That pin is on the side closest to you. Just poke the terminal with the test light.

Could the problem be a bad flasher?
