I am about to purchase the DT long tubes. I've been reading about them and how raspy they can get. I see that a lot of people added a y pipe or switched out the stock muffler to eliminate the rasp I was looking at the flowmaster super 44 muffler. Would this make the rasp worse?

From what I have read the flowmaster with a aftermarket y pipe and long tubes are really raspy and loud and the drone is almost unbearable.

I'm rocking a super 44 on mine and it does get raspy but not till it hits 3500-4000 RPM's. Everything else is stock. I was also looking at headers myself. I'm happy with the muffler tho. I think it even gave me a couple more MPG's.

flowmasters suck period. The headers are awesome though! Magnaflow/borla is a good when used with headers. I'm running headers with the biggest muffler magnaflow has the 5x11x22 previously had the 5x8x18 which sounded good, but the drone got to me after a few years lol.
