I picked up all that. Then sold it. But it contains everything you'd need.

It's been a while since I've read through this thread, but what is a good battery to go with? It seems like DieHard Platinum or Odysseys are frequently mentioned. Any other recommendations? I'm getting a tray sized for the Odyssey 1400 and just received my BlueSea ML-ACR.

Be sure and check out Northstar as well. I am running duals in my truck and couldn't be more pleased with the performance.
Northstar was developed by former engineers/emp of Odyssey and has been upincoming in the auto industry for a few years.
I have no doubt that there are fans but, I personally will never buy another Odyssey after years of issues.

Thanks. Just heard about Northstar. Called a local Batteries Plus about Odyssey and he didn't have any, but he had a X2 AGM group 35, which apparently is a rebadged Northstar. Specs are very similar but appears to have slightly lower CCA 740 vs 900 and less reserve (110 vs 130).

Oh and is there any advantages/disadvantages to running a Group Size 35 or 34? They seem pretty close in specs/performance.

Has anyone seen or heard any info about this dual battery monitoring?
Slee Off Road dual battery LED indicator
    [IMG]
The Slee dual battery LED indicator utilizes two color changing LED's to show the status of each battery.
Seems pretty straight forward, inexpensive and lost cost for having a monitoring method in the cab.

I'd like to see this. I know this post was more than a day ago, but I was planning on purchasing the IBS dual battery kit.

Also, I'm just learning this stuff so go easy on me, I'll be running a few light bars, winch, CB, on board air (eventually) and probably an in cab inverter. About when do you start to say "ok, I should be running dual battery's". I understand I will need to with the amount of things I'll have going. But I'm just curious. Thanks.

Actually I'm torn... The Luna kit looks awesome too. Can anyone way in on which one is superior?

Ah.... Did some reading. Going with the Luna kit.. My reasoning is that being someone that is just starting to scratch the surface of this stuff, the Luna instructions and wiring diagram were so much more user friendly. I was able to understand everything they were talking about and it was incredibly easy to see what needed to be done.

With a dual battery kit, will the alternator in our trucks need to be upgraded?

FYI the BLUE SEA one is one of the easiest installs. Battery right, battery left.

Thats it for the battery hook up

    Next, on the harness.

Run the black, red and yellow in cab.

hook them up to the switch.

ground the switch black - and run a constant + red to it. DONE.

you want a visual graphical interface? theres a great monitor a page or so back.

I'm going the ML-ACL route myself, what fuse size would you guys suggest I put between the ML-ACL and the batteries?
