    DYT=driving your Tacoma

Ok I have a great one: Just ended a nice little chat with a local officer- While driving my Tacoma down our main street, I saw two little punks that couldn’t be older than 13 steal a cell phone from a woman at a bus stop and run down the street with it. Ok, heres the dumb part- I passed them and pulled up and got out of my truck. The kids were holding up the phone and taunting the woman and didnt know I was behind them. I simply grabbed the phone in his hand and suprised him, and he turned around and ran, after dropping the phone. Then he turned towards me and showed off his gun in his waistband. I said I already called the cops so you better leave and he did. Phew! A fun day driving my Taco. Just realized too that I got the punk taking the cellphone from the woman on dashcam. He’s going up on YouTube tonight. He’s lucky I wasn’t carrying either, that gun looked real.

Yeah, but for a cellphone I think it was dumb. My nerves are shot, mostly for the suprise of seeing a small kid doing that. I’m not very street smart I guess.

    Ill go....just one though..for now.
A buddy and I (when we were younger and dumber) were camping out in back country mountains. One night we found an abandoned fire road and started racing each other. He had his 90s chev and we were basically side by side on this narrow road going much faster than we should have been going and hardly staying on the road.
Well we obviously made it out alive but the next day when we went for a cruise, we found that most of the road was a shear cliff at least 200ft up.
We learned a very valuable lesson that day. Dumb as fuq.

All my dumb shit was when I was young, and couldn’t afford the shiny new Toyota I always wanted. I’m 44 now and have all the dumb shit run out of my system. But I would probably do what the one poster did about the cell phone. Maybe there is still some dumbassery in me.

A dog ran out in front of me, Didn't have time to react, did not even swerve.

It was in the country, felt bad about that, but nothing I could do.

12 Ga. put it out of it's misery.

I spit dip on my window, thinking it was down. Thought to myself “how does that even happen”. Lol
Wasn’t in my Tacoma though. It was in my company truck, years ago.

Garage door doesn't always go fully up when it's cold. It wasn't cold.
Always look in side-view mirror first before backing in. It was gloomy, mirror was misted over, door is brown. Door didn't go fully up
Dent on rear roof corner and paint chipped, raised dimple on roof, rub marks on roof, shark fin lifted.
Have to remove taillights to pull bed back.
    Have to remove rear window.
    Have to remove headliner.
Have to pay $1700, mostly for labor.
I feel $1700 dumber. It's 5 months old with 1100 miles. I will keep it for 9 years or so. I told the body shop guy that it needs to be fixed properly.
Implemented a new procedure. Door must be fully up before driving past to back-in.

I developed a bad rattle that sounded like it was between and behind the screen and glove compartment, or maybe the passenger seat. I tied up all the wires under the seat and behind the dash that I could reach. And emptied the glove compartment and console. Nothing helped. Piddled with it for days. I took it in to the dealer to fix. It was my sunglasses in the overhead compartment. Rather embarrassing.

Haha! I have a similar issue. Had a "suspension noise" coming that I thought was coming from my leafspring. Could not figure it out until I noticed...had a beer can rattling around in the bed. Ooooops.

Tested out my Kings on a desert road out by Wendover back in October. Wasn't familiar with the trail we were on, but it looked relatively flat...until it wasn't.

There was this small depressed area about 2 feet lower than the road before it, but the bad part was it had a small whoop in the bottom. Saw it about a truck length before takeoff, all 4 wheels left the ground. Hit that in the blind doing 40 mph. Skipped off the whoop and hit all 4 tires at the same time on the far bank. Oh, btw wear your seatbelt. Friend and I's head both hit the roof, and I ended up cutting my head open in 2 places on the nose pieces of my sunglasses.

damn..how did the suspension (and the rest of the truck for that matter) hold up? I've heard of hits like that cracking body/engine mounts, supports, shock mounts, etc. Hence why I'm terrified to ever let my truck fly even with Kings on it, lol

I was afraid if I turned it off, it wasn't gonna start again to be honest. Left the truck running for 10 or so minutes while I looked for leaking fluids, cracked motor mounts and bowed shock buckets, etc. SOMEHOW made it out almost entirely unscathed. Only issue was the driver front tire stuffed and sorta pulled down the back corner of the bumper about a 1/4". Nothing a pair of pliers and 10 mins couldn't fix. That corner still has a little bigger gap, but nothing you'd really notice unless I told you it was there. Didn't plan on sending it, and don't plan on doing it again. Honestly glad we hit that one and gave ourselves a reality check. About 300 yards down the trail from that was a 4footish wide, 4 footish deep box trench. Would have been full airbags and probably an endo rollover. Good news was that that trench was a lot more visible, so I'd probably have seen that coming a lot farther out. This one was basically a depth perception issue. Road was uniform in appearance, and just had no reference points. Only noticed it because the bushes around it dropped down all the sudden and that's when I knew "I dun goofed"

See the small gap between the front bumper and the fender? That was it post fix. About an hour post impact:
