Ya that regear and everything else seems like a bit much. How much life do your 295's have on them? May be down to buy yours if you go to 315's this year....

I have maybe 4-6k miles on them. Lots of life left. If you're down south it may not be worth it to ship for you. I still need to make up my mind on gear.

Oh yea that's old, I'm in the PNW. Happy to take a road trip down to grab them for a decent price! Salt Lake isn't far at all from Seattle.

Headed up Mary Ellen Gulch here in Utah. Quite enjoyable as we went up early in the morning and one saw two other cars on the trail.

Yes! I've been looking all over for someone with 295s on 3.5BS F5s as that is the EXACT combo I've been after. Right now I have the pinch weld beat back and plastic inside the fender trimmed. I'm looking to do the cab mount chop here soon, but where else are you rubbing? Top of the wheel well? Or on the flare at the back bottom corner?

I have trimmed my fenders at the bottom, done the cab mount chop, and hammered the pinch weld. I'm not getting any rubbing right now. I do have front Wheeler's bump stops so that might help in the upper section.

Did a little bit of exploring this weekend. I'm surprised at how capable this truck is. I goes over everything I have asked it to. I never intended to rock crawl with it but appreciate that when it is required on a trail that it can handle it without sweating.

Really love this truck. @Pelfreybilt high clearance rear bumper is at the powdercoater now. Unfortunately I'll probably get it back during the week and aren't able to install during the week. I'll be camping this weekend and then vacationing at the beach all next week/weekend so it'll be a few weeks before the rear is installed. :(

Mmmmm not as much as new ones? Haha I dunno I'd have to research it. Won't even be back home to get them for another 2 months anyways.

Finally got the Pelfreybilt rear high clearance on. It was horrible. Not the bumper, the process. I can't say I ever want to install one of those again. Took all day including the incident below. I'm OCD when it came to the cuts and it was a pain and still isn't anywhere near perfect. Oh well. The trim included with the bumper left a lot to be desired. Glueing it down turned messy and we just gave up and ordered some different stuff. We were so exhausted by the end that we measured incorrectly for the flares and cut them way too short. They bug me so I'm trying to find some new ones. Lights still need to go in. I love the look.

While cutting the bedsides I had a run in with an angle grinder kicking into my finger. My fault. Should have work some gloves or something.

Glad it's on. Glad the install is over.

Hahaha looks like an adventure! I don't think you cut it too awfully short. You at least know you won't smash your fenders with the bumper sides of you contact something hard. I really don't think it looks too bad but it's your truck. If it makes you feel any better I got a burr of metal embedded in my cornea when ones cutting my bedsides. Had eye protection on and everything....had to get it ground out of my eyeball and everything. Yay for adventures!

Awesome build man, really appreciate the attention to detail. Quick question though, what concerns do you have with loading a RTT on your topper? Dealing with weight distribution and flex on the topper?

I had worried about it at first but don't even think about it anymore. It has been able to hold the weight of the tent and my whole family without issue. Have not noticed any issues.

Finally installed my Rigid reverse lights. The Pelfreybilt bumpers are obviously pre-drilled for the Baja Designs lights but I wasn't about to pay $300 for reverse lights I'd rarely use. Instead I found these Rigids for $150. They required drilling new holes but they cover up the Baja Design holes completely so they didn't have to be filled. Happy with how it turned out.

This makes me happy. I have flush mount rigids too and wasn't sure if I was gonna keep them or go Baja designs cause the new bumpers are already precut for the bajas. But this settles it! Staying rigid! Good post!
