Did anyone ever look into a Dynomax Ultra Flow X muffler? Well I just got one and I am really disapointed.
Take a look at this pic of the bad side. The other side is ok on in and outlets.

As you could see, I believe it should go straight thru so that there would not be much exhaust restriction. The perforated mesh is clearly sticking up into the where the exhaust gases would flow thru the in and outlets.

I e-mailed and called Dynomax but no response back yet.

Perforated mesh is not going to noticeably restrict your exhaust flow pal.

Update! Just got off the phone with Dynomax after having to keep calling to get a clear answer. They say that that is the way they are built. And that the performance will not be affected. I thought the quality would have been better for $150, not sure if i'm gonna use it or send it back which would cost me about $30 for shipping back.

I'd send that crap back, thats just shotty manufacturing.

And yes, anything sticking out into the flow of the exhaust is going to cause turbulence, and with it, more backpressure. It might not be a huge loss, but its sure as hell not a gain.

Just got my Ultra Flow today and took a look inside of it and it is nice and smooth all the way thru. Will take a pic and post it, but either the OP got a defective unit or Dynomax improved there quality.

I had the Ultra Flow X muffler which is 2 in/2out with an X inside, you have the 1in/1out straight thru design.
