    $17.97 sale from 21.99

    DETAILS
    Rust Encapsulator for Auto Repair

Stop rust in its tracks! Eastwood Rust Encapsulator is ideal for parts on project cars that have started to rust, but would be very difficult to replace or fabricate. Simply spray it onto springs, frames, panels and other parts. On properly prepared surfaces that are free of oil and grease, this product seals and stops rust and corrosion from spreading. But it performs even better than our original formula. In fact, our black Rust Encapsulator has been reformulated with TWICE the corrosion resistance! It will also prevent new rust from forming so your parts will remain strong.

    Stronger Than Ever

If you thought it was good before, wait until you try the newest version of our great anti-rust spray. We fortify our over-rust aerosol with an epoxy that helps it stick to the metal and also helps topcoat paints adhere to the encapsulator. Or you can leave it as is for a cool OEM-black look on your suspension or chassis. The latest formulation is strongly heat-resistant to handle the high operating temperatures of a vehicle and will cure quickly so you can resume your project work.

    Outperforms the Competition

When tested against well-known brands, Eastwood Rust Encapsulator has proven to be superior in resisting sunlight, preventing rust creep and promoting overall durability. And by using a spray can, you can get to the nooks and crannies that are prone to rusting yet are hard to completely cover with a brush or paint gun. Buy it together with our 1-quart cans of heavy-duty anti-rust and you'll have a full solution to stop rust from eating away at your ride. Eastwood's 100 percent customer satisfaction guarantee means you can shop with confidence every time you visit.

    Features:

    • Twice the corrosion resistance of our original formula for greater durability (tested to 500 hours in a salt-spray chamber)
    • Epoxy-fortified for better adhesion and topcoat compatibility
    • Penetrates deeper to prevent rust from spreading or forming, even in hard-to-reach areas
    • Cures faster, and the low-VOC formula is acceptable in California
    • 15 oz. aerosol covers about 10 sq. ft.
    • As seen on "My Classic Car" TV show

    Ohhhh
You should pick up a little sandblaster from
Harbor Freight. They work surprisingly well.

Why aren’t you just sand blasting it, wire brush... then spraying?

i have been sandblasting it in the parts i can reach somewhat easily, comes right off very easily just surface stuff so far.
do not need a wire brush (yet)
and I am using foam brushes to paint on primer, no spray painting as of yet

its coming along ok i guess, but the weather is always changing and no heated garage!

i guess i should show a few pics of what i have done so far with the eastwood products over the past several months!

the most recent spot i did was on the driver side under the door behind the front tire.
started out with this mess, it was rubbery undercoated when bot new and it washed off this past year leaving this crap i had never seen before

    driver side front krp.jpg

did a wee bit of flexing to get a better access to the underneath

    IMG_9801.jpg

blasted off nicely i think, this is probably after pic of applying the zinc phosphate afterblast acid

    IMG_9815.jpg

a little flash rust did develop in spots over a couple days out on the road so had to re-wipe with the afterblast acid

    IMG_9804.jpg

a couple of nice coats of the primer, and found i also did damage to the old brittle undercoating on my floor pan.
for now i just sprayed some FF on these spots until i can get something worked out with it

    IMG_9821.jpg

i now wait for some better weather to scuff sandpaper it and apply the extreme black gloss topcoat
and then get a game plan together for the harder to get at areas in the rear section

When you’ve got it all figured out, you can tackle the few spots I have. I’ll even put it up on ramps for you for ease of access. It’ll be like one of those roadside car wash fundraisers

There’s a few. Mostly weld points or nuts and bolts.

its interesting that i found the screws that hold my mudflaps are anti-corrosive, not a lick of crusty on them
but the screws that hold the wheel trim molding pieces are corrosive!
    :notsure:

If they would just make everything out of stainless steel and aluminum we wouldn’t have any problems!

my OEM exhaust was supposedly stainless steel, but probably a lower grade of the material because it did not resist much of anything lol
