Easy/Moderate Trails around Lake Tahoe

Hi NorCal folks, I'll be taking a road trip from Seattle to Lake Tahoe in mid December and was wondering if anyone could suggest some 4x4 trails to check out while I'm there. My truck is slightly modified (Bilstein 5100 @ 1.75", 1.5" AAL Rear, 31.5" Tires, No Armor) and I will be carrying some self-recovery gear (Hi-Lift, Come Along, Chain, Cable, Straps, Shovel, Tire chains) since I'll be the only truck running the trail. So, what would you all say would be within reason for me to check out? Are there easy parts of the Rubicon I could access?

The Rubicon trail is close by also the Fordyce creek trail

 

Eagle Lakes trail off hwy 80. Easy camping too.

 

Thanks fellas. It looks like Fordyce has a lot of rock crawling, same with Rubicon..I think that's going to be outside my capability unfortunately. Eagle Lakes looks like a pretty good option though. Does anyone else have suggestions?

 

Mid December might be a little dicey.

 

Is that because there might be a lot of snow or are the trails going to be closed?

 

Snow could be deep and you'll want to check trail closure too.
