Has anybody heard of this EasyJack 2 from Phonex? It uses the electric lines in your home to allow you to add a phone jack anywhere you have an electrical outlet. It's supposed to be great for people with Dish that need a phone jack for updates, but have no phone jack near the receiver. I just switched to Dish, have two receivers, and don't want to pay $5/receiver/month just because I don't have a phone jack behind the TV.

You plug the base into the wall near a phone jack. You plug the phone line from the wall into the base. The base also has an outlet to allow you to plug a phone directly into the base. Then you plug a remote unit into any electrical outlet and you have a new phone jack w/o re-wiring your house. (Picture below)

The reviews I've read are mostly good, but some say that there is excessive static on the phone line. I ASSUME these people are experiencing static on the phone hooked up to the extension unit.

I won't be plugging phones into the remote units, just the DISH Network receivers, so I don't particularly care about static on them.

Finally, my question: If you have one of these (or know anybody that does), do you/they get static from the phone plugged directly into the base?
